Three small settings keep your grids, charts, and cutting shapes at the dimensions you chose.
- Use the PDF for measured printing. It stores a real physical page and vector lines. Open the downloaded PDF in a PDF viewer; the page preview on the website is scaled to fit your screen.
- Match the paper. If your PDF is A4, choose A4 in both the printer and the print dialog. Letter and A4 are different shapes; fitting one onto the other changes the scale.
- Choose Actual Size or 100%. Disable Fit to page, Shrink to printable area, and any borderless enlargement. Adobe’s page-size guide explains its print options.
Using a shape for cutting? Print a test first and measure it. A 50 mm calibration square checks horizontal and vertical scale.
A few common printing snags.
My grid is a little smaller than it should be.
Your print dialog may be shrinking the PDF to fit the printable area. Switch to Actual Size / 100%, confirm the paper size, and turn off borderless enlargement. The templates already include a 10 mm outer margin.
The preview looks faint.
Default lines are a soft sage so handwriting stands out. For a stronger print, open the studio, choose Charcoal, and increase line weight. Printer ink, draft mode, and grayscale conversion can also change visibility.
I want A5, but my printer only uses A4.
Open the A5 PDF and select A4 paper with Actual Size. The A5 page can print within the larger sheet; trim to its stated dimensions. Placement depends on the viewer. Do not enlarge it with Fit.
Should I print the PNG or SVG?
PDF is the easiest way to keep physical measurements. SVG also stores millimeter dimensions, but your drawing app may scale it when importing. PNG is useful for digital notes and images; choose PDF when precise physical size matters.
How do I print a pack with different paper sizes?
You can keep each page’s original size or use one size for every sheet in the pack builder. For mixed sizes, select the correct paper source for each page, or print groups separately. A uniform paper size changes how many cells or shapes fit, while the pattern measurement stays fixed.
Can I print on both sides?
Yes, if your printer supports duplex printing. Use a uniform sheet size, check the flip direction, and test a two-page sample first. These templates are single-page layouts; they do not impose booklet pagination or guarantee front/back registration.
Bring the sheet closer to your needs.
Use the paper studio to adjust margins, line weight, color, or spacing. Add a scale-check line when exact measurements matter. For a journal refill or study session, combine your sheets in one print pack.
